It was super warm today!! Which got me motivated to paint my nails all my favorite colors for spring. So if you want to know how I did these nails! Read on!
So here is what you will need...
For Nail polish you will need
Sally Hansen Insta-Dry 110 Clear Quickly (or any clear top coat you like)
Fresh Paint in Guava
Fresh Paint in Alex's Lemonade
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in 270 Lacey Lilac
Sation Nail Laquer in Of Corset Ill Call You
Sally Girl in Light green (there is no color name or number on the bottle)
Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in 600 Fuzzy Fantasy
Spoiled in S004 Correction Tape (not pictured {or your favorite white})
Essie Matte About You top coat
Loose long silver glitter
Loose white glitter (these can be substituted for your favorite glitter top coat)
A dotting tool (a tool, bobby pin, straight pin, anything that you can make dots with)
a palette or flat surface that you can put polish on (I use a Manic Panic Jar)
Acetone
QTips
Note: you can change any of the colors for colors what you have! also try it with black dots instead of white! Also it looks great with out the glitter as well!
Sooooo lets get started!
1. Paint your thumbs with the white. and your ring finger with the light green. Apply clear top coat over both of these so they dont bleed into your top colors.
2. now paint the pink over the white and the green glitter over the green and the other colors in what ever order you would like. paint as many coats as it takes to become opaque. Let dry.
3. paint the matte top coat over all of the nails EXCEPT the green glitter. let dry.
4. Now grab what ever you are using for your palette. I use an empty jar of manic panic hair dye. you can store things in it and its the right size that I can rest my finger and dab some polish on it. Now place a blob of the white polish on the lid. now take your dotting tool and place random polka dots all over the nail. Make sure you continually dab more polish on the lid. If it gets too dry it will cause stringys when you make your dots.
5. Take the matte top coat and paint some on the back end of your nail. now QUICKLY dip a qtip in the long silver glitter and tap it on your nail. You have to work Quickly because the matte top coat dries realllllllly fast! repeat with the white glitter. and then top with the matte top coat!
6. clean up any edges with a qtip dipped in acetone!
7. Show off to your friends!!!
Hope this gives you some great ideas for some fun spring nails! If you do these or you do your own version leave them in the comment below I would love to see them!!!
