So I'm addicted. I live for trying new products and exploring new brands. But that can be expensive! So a good way to do that is through subscription services. You can get samples and some times full size products for a fraction of the price. The one I have here today I feel is one of the more popular ones. Its Birchbox! ( www.birchbox.com )
Heres how it works you go to the website above and request an invitation. It says it takes up to 4 weeks but I got mine within a week. Then you choose the type of subscription you want.
There is monthly for $10/month
or a yearly for $110
After you choose what works for you, you then take the quiz that determines what products would work best for you and what products you like getting!! For example I have colored hair (urgh I mean the vampire red and hot hot pink are clearly natural ;p) so when they send me shampoos or hair care products alot of them are specific for color treated hair! That was I am not using products that damage my hair!
You get a box once a month with about 4 samples, one full size, and sometimes an extra! Cant decide if Birchbox is for you. Here was May 2013's box!
This is what the box looks like when you first open it. It does come with an info card telling you what is in the box but I like the surprise!!
In this months box there is 4 samples and a full size item! (I know what you are saying there is only 4 items here. but there is 2 items in the yellow pack this month!)
This was the full size item in this months box. The Tweezerman Matchbox Itty Bitty Nail Files. There are 12 files in this box! I threw these in my purse and they are fantastic!! and I loooooove the green star pattern! They work well and they are great for when you snag your nail on the go!
full size $5
This was by far my FAVORITE product in the box. The Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Spray. I sprayed this in my hair right out of the shower, and most of the time it takes me forrreeeeevvvvveeerrr to brush out my hair. With this I could brush my hair through the first try!!! It does have a floral perfume scent but it is not over powering and it just leaves a faint floral smell when your hair is dry. I will be purchasing the full size of this product!!
Full Size $21.95
Now I am really picky about the perfume I wear. Not to mention I am verrrrryyyy loyal to my Lady Gaga The Fame. and I was pleasantly surprised by the Joie Folle de Joie eau du parfum. This is Joie debut scent and if the rest they ever make smells this good. IM IN! The combination of mandarin, rose, and sandalwood is heavenly. I will be very sad when this sample runs out because I am in love and the full size is VERY pricey.
Full Size $98
I have not worked this into my make up routine just yet. Though the Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in Black seems to be a very good pencil liner. This pencil comes in a pack of 4 mini pencils in other colors. I have swatched this and it is supppper creamy and very pigmented. I am excited to try it even though I am addicted to liquid liner. I am thinking this will be good in the water line to darken up a smokey eye! Its said to be inspired by traditional Indian Formulas.
Full Size -Four mini pencils $21
and last but not least the Coola Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face. I like this product so far. My skin is very sensitive to the sun. So I am always looking for a sunscreen for my face that smells nice and doesn't leave my skin looking like I dumped a bottle of olive oil on it. Plus this one has organic anti aging ingredients like primrose extract and borage seed oil! Plus it smells nice like floral cucumber! I am excited to put this to the test on a trip to the beach!
full size $32
Now I must say this is a good box I am pretty much excited to try all of the products this month! All of the information that I have provided came off the info card that comes in the box! and all the opinions are mine and mine alone!
