So to the InterWebs I went!! And Naturally the first place I looked was one of my favorite curvy girl clothing website www.dominodollhouse.com and FELL IN LOVE (seriously this dress and I are going to have a long and happy life together) with this dress!
Not to mention the shoes that I am hell bent on wearing look alot like the ones that she is wearing in the picture so I know they will go with the dress! I spent ALOT of money on these pair of Jeffrey Campbell Starry Nites. And I LOVE them but haven't had a chance to wear them and this gives me a good excuse. So gosh darn it I have been practicing not tipping over for months now and I am going to wear them!!! Plus they are so pretty see...
That dress and these shoes were a match made in fashion heaven. Then my mom who I love dearly and never was one to sugar coat her opinions squashed my perfect fashion union! "You don't wear black to a Wedding, Jessica! Its not a funeral!"
So my moral dilemma ensues....wear the shoes and the dress and risk the rath of my mother or get a new dress and not wear the shoes. I know what you are thinking. "Just get a dress that these shoes match!" I have kept that under consideration and narrowed it down to a few options. Some match some don't overall I cant decide! Here are some options that I am leaning too...
Contestant #2 is the Pull Up A Cherry Dress from www.modcloth.com. This is a typical "me" dress. Ive been obsessed with cherry patterned things since middle school and through the years that hasn't changed. This dress is a good price point and I love the cut. Though I would probably wear my shoes with this dress. I should really get shoes that better matches it. Also the BIG down fall to this dress is its white. Now don't get me wrong I like white clothing. But white clothing doesn't like my hair! God forbid it rains while i am wearing this. It would look like someone stabbed me! (my hair is fire engine red and hot pink!!) Even if i wear my hair down the residue from my hair weeping alone would dye this light colored fabric. I could wear a light summer sweater with it but what if its 100 degrees out I am not going to want to wear a sweater! But over all I love this dress.
Last but not least is the With Only A Wink Dress in Rose from www.modcloth.com . This is the classic style that I like to wear but I would have to wear different shoes. These would clash if I would wear the shoes with this dress. Over all I think this is my favorite to wear to a wedding. I would also have to wear my hair up because the color would ruin the light colored fabric. This dress is also the most expensive of the three and I would most likely wear this one the least after the wedding. Though it is almost perfect for the occasion hence my dilemma!!!
So as I am mulling over my dress purchase which I need to make soon so it has time to arrive, let me know what you think!
Can you wear black to a wedding?
and what dress would you wear!?
